Somehow I got the idea in my head that making Orpheus would be easier and cooler than Rem. By then it was already too late and I found myself buying all sorts of materials to experiment with. He had to be sturdy but still light.
Amazingly the end design weighs somewhere around 15 pounds! He is modular, made of many sections that fit together for easy transport and slides easily onto the wooden pole attached to my back. I was really happy about many of the details including the light up eyes and the overall proportions being accurate.
Making his metallic joints was definitely the most difficult thing to do, requiring many hours of coating and sanding and painting!
